{"id":812,"date":"2011-08-13T10:23:52","date_gmt":"2011-08-13T14:23:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/energyrealist.com\/?p=812"},"modified":"2011-08-13T10:25:43","modified_gmt":"2011-08-13T14:25:43","slug":"fame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/energyrealist.com\/?p=812","title":{"rendered":"Fame"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The realist \u201ccelebrated\u201d a significant birthday a few days ago \u2013 and, no, it wasn\u2019t the 21<sup>st<\/sup>, despite the realist\u2019s deceptively youthful looks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/energyrealist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IR_00285.bmp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-813\" title=\"IR_00285\" src=\"https:\/\/energyrealist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IR_00285.bmp\" alt=\"\" width=\"256\" height=\"192\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So the realization slowly creeps in that the realist may not have to bear the burden of widespread fame (or notoriety) after all.<\/p>\n<p>Then the <a href=\"http:\/\/www1.flir.com\/webmail\/5392\/140309451\/dd5b68c6880fdb4554c89b4625f646c1\">ITC Newsletter<\/a> comes through the e-mail \u2013 containing all sorts of interesting stuff for infra-red buffs \u2013 including the not so surprising fact that solar panels on the roof keep that roof cooler in summer, and good things about attic ventilation.<\/p>\n<p>But there, half way down, is a brain teaser.\u00a0 And the picture shows the realist\u2019s very own kitchen windows!\u00a0 Fame at last\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/energyrealist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/aug_brain.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-814\" title=\"aug_brain\" src=\"https:\/\/energyrealist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/aug_brain.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That picture actually does tell a lot.\u00a0 First; it\u2019s cold out, that background sky is at -20 degrees Celsius.\u00a0 Second, the realist better do something about air sealing and insulating the rim joist, instead of just telling other people to do it.\u00a0 And then the soffits over the three kitchen windows leak heat.
