What am I doing?<\/p>\n

1. Reading 7 years\u2019 worth of xkcd cartoons<\/strong>. <\/span>#1007 seems sort of appropriate:<\/p>\n

I wonder if, when every word becomes \u201csustainable\u201d, we will actually have a sustainable energy situation. <\/span>One can hope.<\/p>\n

2. Going on a trip<\/strong> to the other side of world – with a short (4 minute) video – go see it!<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/span>Some duty, lots of fun. <\/span>More energy related items to report on \u2013 later.<\/p>\n

Dinner at Kings Creek station.\u00a0 The man on the left is Ian Conway<\/a>, owner of the station – an activist on aboriginal affairs, a mover for tourism and breeder of camels.\u00a0 On the right is Dick Smith<\/a>, probably one of Australia’s most recognized entrepreneurs.\u00a0 He is active in politics and has outspoken positions on unending growth, including matters of energy. \u00a0 In December 2011, Smith was appointed as a Consulting Professor in the Department of Biology, School of Humanities and Sciences of Stanford University<\/a> California by Dean, Richard P.Saller. <\/span><\/a><\/sup> This was made in recognition of his many years of work in relation to environmental issues including his 2011 book, Dick Smith’s Population Crisis<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore<\/p><\/div>\n

This crazy hotel in Singapore has swimming pool in that curved ship-shaped part 57 floors up.\u00a0 “They” claim it is an energy efficient and environmentally responsible<\/a> building.\u00a0 But even if it isn’t – it is sort of cool.<\/p>\n

3. Some minimal amount of gardening.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There has to be an energy connection. <\/span>My job is to cut back on the lush growth this time of year; stop the house being lost, like Sleeping Beauty\u2019s castle like, behind a wall of roses. <\/span>All that bio-fuel\u2026<\/p>\n

My new mobile phone has so much power and so much capability I need to a postgrad course to keep up. <\/span>And by the time I\u2019ve finished it will be obsolete. <\/span>And I really need to understand VB in Excel, and what about the meaning of William Blake\u2019s poems, and\u2026<\/p>\n
